Traditionally watercolour artists have used brushes made from squirrel, however the hair is expensive. 20% of the SQUIRREL / TAKLON brush hair is made from blue Squirrel. This hair is a lot lighter than the taklon so the actual hair volume for the squirrel component seems much greater. Squirrel retains lots of water and when combined with taklon it makes a perfectly affordable watercolour brush.
