Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolour Sets feature a range of carefully selected traditional Japanese watercolours. The rich intense colours come from the water-based pigments, which are more opaque than other watercolour brands. They are highly blendable with a creamy smooth consistency. They are ideal for sketching, illustration, sumi-e, brush lettering and more. Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolour Sets are handcrafted using traditional methods and as such pan trays may show cracks or rough textures due to air bubbles. This does not affect the quality or performance. Every watercolour block is an individual tray that can be removed from the palette during use. Non-toxic and odourless.

GRANULATING -The colours of these Gansai watercolours separate to create whimsical and dreamy effects.
The degree of colour separation and blurring may vary depending on the type of paper used.
You can enjoy greater changes in colour by dissolving the watercolours in lots of water and letting the colors separate on your palette before painting.

SUMI -We have utilized the expertise and techniques developed over 120 years of ink making to develop these Gansai colours which have six particularly deep sumi-like colour tones.

GRAPHITE -Deep, tranquil Gansai Tambi colours with a matte texture and finish specific to graphite.
Polishing the surface of Graphite Gansai (once dry) reveals a metallic lustre.
Altered to have a deep, calming colour that reflects a similar colour and texture of graphite, it can be used immediately after diluting it with water.
